Feed Your Brain

Antioxidants: Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, and Chocolate
Your brain needs oxygen but the wrong kind can also wear it down.  A byproduct of your body’s normal metabolism is free radicals, which is an oxygen molecule that lacks a certain electron and can damage your healthy tissue.  Foods with lots of antioxidants can help correct the problem by giving one of their electrons to the radicals, which neutralizes their activity.  Lots of foods are high in antioxidants, particularly fruits and veggies, as well as chocolate and nuts.  Vitamins C and E also have good antioxidant powers, but the best way to get vitamins is always through food.

Omega-3: Fish
It’s true, fish is brain food.  There’s a reason you’ve heard that before.  There are particular fats in many kinds of fish called omega-3 fatty acids, and they are critical for the outer membrane of brain cells.  Omega-3s are thought to contribute to greater alertness, lower the risk of dementia and generally help you retain your faculties.  And fish is delicious, which can make nourishing your brain a treat for your palate.  If you’re like most of us and can’t get fish on your plate every day, try taking Omega XL®.  This supplement is a unique blend of Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids extracted from Perna Canaliculus oil extract. The oil is the combination of active omega fatty acids and the Perna Canaliculus oil extract (Green Lipped Mussel).

Caffeine and Sugar:  Cocoa, Guarana
Your alertness and energy is up after you have your coffee or tea, and a candy bar in the middle of the afternoon does provide an energy boost.  But these sources of energy are also followed by a crash that is very real.  Too much caffeine can disturb your natural sleep cycles and heart rate, additionally is can make you jumpy.  Too much sugar intake leaves you wired then leaves you tired.  Try to keep your coffee, tea and energy drinks consumption habits to a minimum, and always stick to natural sugar in fruit over the refined stuff in candy or soda whenever possible.

It seems like every time you post Bill it sparks a thought and connects me with other posts that I have read in the past only to validate further my beliefs and what I know. Here you have brought up three different subjects that are ultimately connected to the betterment of life as a whole.

The fact that you are not only addressing development, funding, and marketing projects for a better life. but you also address health and taking care of ones physical and mental self as a part of true success and happiness. This to me truly shows how much you truly care about people.

A quality not to be overlooked in this day and age.
